There are many areas to report on this month including a new employee, prices changes, the announcement of new services and our first award. Part of the reason for our rapid growth and change is a result of being in a such a fast growth industry. The impact of the Information Age has been compared to the invention of the telephone and television and is moving and changing at an incredible rate. What gets us excited is when we can offer a new or improved service to our customers that in turn, helps their business. As a customer of Springfield CyberLink you can rest assured that we are keeping our finger on the pulse of the industry. We continually strive to improve the services that we offer to our customers because they are the real reason Springfield CyberLink has grown.
Please welcome John Culp Jr. to our staff as a Junior Developer. John is temporary summer help and will be returning to school in the fall. I met John through his mother Donna Culp at a Tip Top Associates networking mixer. Once I saw the work John had done on his own page I knew he would hit the ground running and immediately become a productive member of our team.
July 1, 1997 marked the one year anniversary of Springfield on the web (http://www.springfield.va.us). To date nearly 25,000 visitors have hit the main Springfield page. For many residents, tourists and travelers this has been a very useful tool when navigating the area and the community. We have been honored by the Springfield business community with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s 1997 Best Product Award. Look for pictures and details in the Chamber’s Image as well as in the Springfield Connection newspaper. Thank you for your nominations.
As promised we have partnered with some Internet Service Providers to provide discounted Internet access for our customers. For a combination of best price and best coverage we have partnered with two. We turned to the largest ISP in the world (PSINet)for national access and the largest ISP in the area (Erols) for the best price. This partnership has prompted us to redevelop our entire pricing strategy so that our customers can now look to us to provide a single source solution for all their Internet requirements.
We have a new price list that will become effective 8/1/97. Many of our prices have gone down. We are especially proud of our new business packages that offer a complete solution including access, email and web hosting for one low price.
